PORTLAND POOL HOUSE

Multi-Story Sliding Glass Installation  |  Oregon

14 PANELS  |  250-860 LBS EACH  |  MULTI-MACHINE COORDINATION

42-FOOT MULTI-SLIDE, EVERYTHING CRANED OVER HILLSIDE HOUSE

Complete basement pool house remodel on a hillside overlooking western Oregon. Fourteen sliding glass door panels ranging from 250 to 860 lbs, including a 42-foot-wide multi-slide system (5 panels at 8' x 12' each), a 14-foot door (3 panels), and a 24-foot door requiring stair access (6 panels at 4' x 8' each). All equipment and glass panels had to be craned over the main house structure, lowered one floor down to the pool deck below. The 24-foot door installation required lifting equipment up an exterior staircase from the basement level. Limited staging area at street level and multi-level site access created complex coordination requirements across four separate glass lifting machines.

ALL FOUR MACHINES, COMPLETE CHOREOGRAPHY

Complete multi-machine choreography for the sliding glass installation. The crane positioned the SmartLift SL 608 on the lower pool deck. The SL 809 lifted panels from street-level crates and transferred them to crane. The Wood's MRTA8 hanging manipulator lifted panels over the house and lowered them to the waiting SL 608, which rotated and positioned each panel into the door frames.

For the 24-foot stair-access door, the SL 809 lifted the SL 380 to the upper landing - using a larger machine to position the smaller one. The SL 809 was then craned into position. The SL 608 loaded panels at street level and transferred to crane. The MRTA8 lifted panels over the house and handed them to the SL 809. The SL 809 lifted panels up the exterior staircase and passed them to the SL 380, which positioned each panel into the door frame.

This sliding glass door installation required every machine in the fleet working in coordinated sequence—a complete demonstration of multi-machine capability navigating extreme site constraints.
