Glass Replacement Installation | Wyoming
1 PANEL | 900 LBS | 8' x 13'
PROTECT THE YARD, REPLACE THE GLASS
Second-story glass replacement for a completed luxury residence in Wyoming. A single failed 8' x 13' panel weighing 900 lbs required removal and replacement on a finished home with pristine landscaping, patio, and backyard—none of which could be driven over by glass lifting equipment. Standard ground-level staging was impossible without destroying completed landscape work. The 13-foot panel needed to be removed from the second story, transferred over the protected yard area, and a new panel installed in the same opening without any equipment touching the finished surfaces.
CUSTOM PLATFORM, ZERO DAMAGE
Elevated platform staging with crane coordination for the glass replacement installation. We constructed a custom 8' x 16' platform over the landscaping to protect finished surfaces. The SmartLift SL 809 was craned onto the platform. The SL 809 extended its 20-foot boom to the second story and removed the failed 900 lb glass panel, handing it off to the Wood's MRTA8 hanging manipulator. The MRTA8 craned the old panel over the protected yard to the dumpster. The crane and MRTA8 then brought the new glass panel over the house to the waiting SL 809. The SL 809 positioned the new panel into the opening and held it while trim and caulking were installed. Once complete, the SL 809 was craned back to the trailer—leaving the finished landscaping undisturbed.
This glass replacement installation demonstrated zero-impact equipment staging, protecting completed site work while executing a complex second-story panel swap.
